We were very disappointed to hear that Fred Howard Park and beach was going to be closed for renovations until Fall 2009… So, we started wondering where else we could go to take in a sunset and enjoy the beach. Well, we discovered another gem in Tarpon Springs called Sunset Beach. One thing we found out about Sunset Beach is that they host a Music on the Beach concert series every month. Concerts run from April to November so there are still a few more before the series is over.
Sunset Beach is a not far from (just a little south of) Fred Howard Park, off Florida Avenue, not far from Tampa area homes. Although the water here is not really ideal for swimming, Sunset Beach is a nice spot to sit, relax and watch the seagulls. There are frequently dolphins spotted here too. If you bring a picnic dinner to the beach just around sundown, you’ll have a perfect, quiet spot to watch the sunset. If you already live in Tarpon Springs you probably are familiar with this little beach by now, but for those who are just looking for Tarpon Springs real estate, it’s good to know there are so many beautiful parks here.
The concerts are free of charge, but donations are welcome and go towards the building of the Beach Pavilion. Future dates for the remainder of 2008 are Oct 16th (Dapper Dan Band) and Nov 13 (Lil Pearl & the Big Boys). The music goes from 7-9 PM. Tampa Bay Real Estate offers lots of homes in many styles and sizes in Tarpon Springs area, so come take a look. And catch a sunset while you’re here.

Sunken Radio is a free online radio dedicated to unsigned bands and signed bands alike. The purpose and goal of Sunken Radio is to help bands share their music with the world and help give bands a name that totally deserve it. We, as an online radio, will strive to get our artists what they deserve. We’ve set up blogs to honor them, as well as band of the week featuring on the homepage. Every person that comes to the page can click like on the specific band and that generates a link on their facebook page for that band, as well as for the radio site itself. We’re also going to create personal band blogs for the bands themselves, that listeners and other band members can comment on and like.

Recent numbers from Freddie Mac illustrate that mortgage rates are holding at record lows in the midst of an unsteady U.S. bond market, with 30-year fixed mortgages averaging 4.79 percent for the week ending June 3, up 0.01 percentage points from the prior week but half a point lower than last year. This is in close proximity to the all-time low of 4.71 points reached last December, corroborating that 30-year rates have remained mainly unmoved. Similarly, 15-year fixed-rate mortgages have shown new record lows reaching 4.20 percent, which is considerably lower than the 4.79 percent average of the previous year. Since 1971 and since 1991, Freddie Mac has been tracking 30-year and 15-year mortgage rates.
Bob Lipply who brokers Eastlake Woodlands homes says that the trend of low prices and financing choices on homes has no intentions of changing, keeping the environment beneficial for new buyers. A sizeable recovery in the housing market that took place several weeks past was later credited to consumers securing the homebuyer tax credit before the deadline of April 30th. A 13-year low soon followed the “recovery.” Freddie Mac chief economist Frank Nothaft and other analysts are of the belief that this is a temporary decline, acknowledging that growth for the first three months of the year fell short of expectations. However the housing market has shown signs of being on the right path to recovery; it will be a slow one with inflation remaining stable.
